Kareem Abdul-Jabbar has done almost everything you could imagine a highly-successful NBA player could do, has worked as a coach and advisor for teams such as the LA Lakers, a team he was previously part of. He has appeared in numerous movies and TV shows such as The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, 21 Jump Street and Bruce Lee’s film Game of Death.
Not content with that, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s a regular column writer for the Time magazine. He has written books such as Brothers in Arms: The Epic Story of the 761st Tank Battalion, Mycroft Holmes and My Journey Through the Harlem Renaissance, co-written with Raymond Obstfeld. Obstfeld will be a partner which, along with artist Joshua Cassara, will be working together with him on his next project: a comic book based on the Mycroft Holmes character.
Doing an initial projection of a five-issue series, the Abdul-Jabbar’s new project is titled: Mycroft Holmes and the Apocalypse Handbook. The narrative will guide us through the adventures of Mycroft Holmes, as he works on a mission assigned by the British government to thwart the plans of an evil madman that plans to destroy civilization using a wicked technology.
Mycroft Holmes and the Apocalypse Handbook will be published by Titan Comics and the first issue will be available both in comic book stores and for digital purchase on August 3 of the current year.
